Hey there! I’m Matt, a 24-year-old with a deep passion for food and a drive to create memorable experiences one meal at a time. I’ve started three food businesses, with ‘Catered by Matt’ being the latest. Over the past seven years, I’ve worked in some of Australia’s top fine-dining restaurants, serving in roles ranging from commis chef to sous chef. 

I’ve catered a wide range of events, from intimate backyard gatherings to lavish boat parties with over 200 guests. I’ve prepared premium 10-course dinners in some of the country’s most luxurious homes and catered for large weddings and international celebrities. It is safe to say that my life is a bit of a roller coaster, but one thing that remains constant is my dedication to crafting unforgettable meals and experiences. To me, great food is at the heart of every celebration.

What started as just me has now grown into a talented team of nine, including chefs, waitstaff, bartenders, and more. At ‘Catered by Matt’, we blend our experience and passion to deliver delicious and memorable events every time.

Choose from a variety of catering options, including BBQ catering for that classic Aussie flavour, buffet catering for a versatile dining experience, or our wide selection of delicious canapés. Looking for something extra special? Our degustation menu offers everything from a 2-course meal to an extravagant 8-course dining experience.

We’re all about high-quality experiences, using only the freshest ingredients sourced locally from small farmers, butchers, fishmongers, and distributors. This way, you get the best produce Sydney has to offer.

Questions and Answers

Private chefs cost around $450 for an average 4-hour event.

Although we are based in Syndey and primarily cater to Sydney, we also cater to the Hunter Valley, Central Coast, Newcastle and surrounding areas.

We wish to make your occasion as special as possible. For this reason, we can work with you to tailor our menus to your desire.

Bookings are subject to availability. If the date is available, you can book on notice as short as 48 hours notice. In saying this, we are typically booked out in advance.
