You’ve probably heard me (Chef Matt) say it by now, whether it was on Instagram, through a blog, or at an event, and I will undoubtedly say it again. “At Catered By Matt, our goal is to build a brand that our clients can rely on”. But what does it truly mean to ‘rely’ on someone? According to Google, it means “to depend on with confidence”. Our team considered what it would take to have our clients truly be able to rely on us. We then broke this concept into three key components, along with actionable steps for our team to implement. Here is what we aim to deliver to be a brand you can truly rely on.


An Easy Booking Process:
Ensuring that all your questions are well discussed and thoroughly answered

Ensure menus are served as discussed before the event
Sourcing only the freshest and best quality produce

Employing only chefs with restaurant experience.
Seamless Service:
A comfortable balance of professionalism and personability throughout the service
Flexibility and co-operation on the day of your event
Employing only waitstaff + bar staff with restaurant experience.

Step 1 - Creating Your Perfect Menu
From the initial enquiry, you will be met with professionalism and passion from our administrative assistant ‘Billie’. Billie will help you through the booking process by first understanding the requirements and expectations of your next event. The points that will be covered in the inital phone call are as follows:
When – What date would you like to have your event?
Location – Where in Sydney would you like your event to be held?
Reason for event – Is this a wedding, birthday, reunion, product launch? etc
Attendees – How many guests do you plan on having at your event?
Menu – Which menu style would you like to proceed with? e.g. canapé catering, buffet catering, or degustation catering.
Layout – Is this a corporate (business), or private event?
Staffing – Would you like additional staff? e.g. waitstaff, and or, bar staff.
Equipment Hire – Do you need help with the hiring or equipment? e.g. plates, cutlery, glasses, tables, etc
Previous experience – Have you had catering before? What did you, and did you not enjoy about it.
These questions will help us understand your event, and allow us to suggest ways that we can elevate your event to impress your guests.
Step 2 - Booking Your Event
Once we have discussed all details of your event, and you would like to proceed with booking our catering services, we will prepare a quote for you. Once approved, we will create an invoice for a 50% deposit to get it all locked in.
Step 3 - Let Us Wow Your Guest
The day prior to your event, you will receive a text message from Billie, connecting you and the chef for your event.
On the day of your event, you will receive a text from your chef 30 minutes before they arrive.
Once the chef and additional staff are in your home or office, and are set up and ready to go, we will take care of everything from you. If we were doing a canapé event, we would arrive 90 minutes before the food service begins. Then, we will serve delicious roaming canapés for 1.5 – 3 hours, depending on the size of the menu selected.
Once the event is completed, we will clear, clean and wash all plates, cutlery, and glasses used throughout the event. We will also spray and wipe your kitchen down, leaving it cleaner then we found it.
Step 4 - Following up
The day after the event, we will touch back with you to see how the event was. This will be via both text and email.
We will then offer you our ‘referal offer’, that allows you to refer friends to our service, and will let them book in at a discounted rate.
From there, we will place you in our CRM, to. make sure you don’t miss any of our exciting offers, new menus, or website updates!
